Masterclass IA-4

The Sugden Masterclass IA-4 is a large integrated Class A solid-state amplifier, combining a wide-bandwidth preamplifier with a development of the original Sugden A21 pure Class A power stages. It is designed to produce a broad, deep and high soundstage across different types of music, with an organic and euphonic presentation from a single integrated amplifier.

As Sugden’s flagship and most popular integrated amplifier, the IA-4 weighs 20 kilos and has a purposeful appearance with substantial construction. Its facilities include multiple input and output connections, together with a high-quality phono stage. The pure Class A power output circuit uses a larger power supply than the A21 series, along with improved smoothing and output capacitors.

Gold-plated circuit boards, full relay switching and a precision input selector switch are used throughout the amplifier. The bespoke preamplifier section provides clarity and detail, while the IA-4’s design is intended to create a performance with depth and height from any type of music.
