E1X DAC

The E1X Advanced Integrated Platform (AIP) draws on design elements from the Black System to optimise analogue and digital system performance. Each input follows a carefully arranged circuit path that provides noise rejection and signal optimisation, together with advanced custom time-optimised filters that reduce sonic blur and improve clarity and dynamic impact.

The E1X DAC/Control Preamplifier uses Bel Canto’s proprietary technologies, including the HDR-II (High Dynamic Range) DAC core and the AMiP (Asynchronous Multi Input Platform). The design supports digital sources over Ethernet and USB, the full range of digital inputs for CD playback, line-level inputs for a reel-to-reel tape deck, and vinyl through the internal MM/MC software-controlled analogue phono stage.

All source inputs are asynchronously re-clocked into the fully balanced advanced-segment DAC, which measures below 0.001% distortion and provides 126dB of dynamic range. Removing the source clock and using Bel Canto’s custom Ultra Low Noise master clock circuitry reduces jitter and data-related distortion while preserving the audio signal.

Asynchronous Ethernet provides access to streaming services and music stored on a NAS (network attached storage) drive or an independent multi-terabyte drive connected to the USB-A input. Bel Canto’s proprietary asynchronous Ethernet and USB-A inputs support high-resolution files up to 24bits at 192ks/s, MQA and DSD64. The E1X provides full server functionality with wireless iOS control through the SEEK control app. Android users can use the MConnect app.
