The McIntosh MI1250 is a 12-channel digital distribution amplifier for whole-house audio systems, delivering 50 Watts into 8 Ohm speakers or 90 Watts into 4 Ohm speakers. Its closed-loop digital switching amplifiers are paired with robust power supplies.
The amplifier has installer-friendly dimensions and can be mounted in a 2U rack using the included, removable mounting ears. For non-rack installations, the ears can be taken off. Its efficient Class D design does not require cooling fans to maintain nominal operating temperature.
Each channel is monitored by a multi-colour LED indicator on the black glass front panel, which also carries an illuminated McIntosh logo. Silver trim completes the familiar McIntosh form factor.
Connections and controls are positioned on the rear panel. These include unbalanced inputs, 2-pole Phoenix style push-in speaker terminals for each channel, individual volume controls for balancing, and 2 digital audio inputs accepting coaxial or optical connections. The digital inputs can be bussed, while channel summing circuits support mono signal distribution.

- 12 Volt triggering capabilities to automatically turn other connected McIntosh components on and off.
- Eco-friendly on/off signal sensing that turns the unit off if no input signal has been detected for a set amount of time or automatically turns the amp on when it senses a signal.
