The McIntosh MC275 MK VI, a tube power amplifier, uses McIntosh’s widest-bandwidth output transformer design for tauter bass control and a thermally quiet circuit, with balanced and unbalanced inputs for connection to a preamplifier. It can operate in stereo or mono with another MC275, while 7 illuminated tubes indicate status and output-tube failure.

The McIntosh MC275 MK VI is a tube power amplifier designed for current music systems while retaining the characteristics associated with the MC275 series. This 6th-generation model incorporates subtle changes from the previous version, including a thermally quiet circuit design and the widest-bandwidth McIntosh output transformer design. These revisions provide tauter bass control.

McIntosh patented gold-plated speaker binding posts provide connection for all speaker cables. Balanced and unbalanced input connectors are used to connect the MC275 MK VI to a preamplifier and support signal transfer from the source component.

7 small tubes are LED illuminated to show the amplifier’s operating status. After power-up, they glow amber in sequence for a few seconds before turning green to indicate that the system is ready. If an output tube fails, the small tubes positioned in front of it turn red to identify the fault. Power Control allows the tube illumination to be controlled remotely from a McIntosh preamplifier.
