Diablo 333

£24,500

The new Integrated amplifier delivers ten percent more output power than its renowned predecessor, but the 333’s performance extends beyond mere wattage. Incorporating circuit advancements and components from Gryphon’s flagship Apex and Commander Amplifier and Preamplifier, the Diablo 333 benefits from a “trickle-down” effect. Newly developed ultra-fast pre-driver transistors enhance both musicality and measured performance, while the output devices—ten per channel—are the same as those used in Gryphon’s State-of-the-Art Apex. A significantly enhanced power supply, featuring an oversized Holmgren Dual-Mono Transformer and 68,000uF per channel filter capacitance, provides substantial dynamic headroom and contributes to the amplifier's 50.6 kg (112 lb) weight.

The design of the 333 unmistakably reflects Gryphon’s DNA. The triangular display panel with a 4.3” TFT capacitive touch screen mirrors the aesthetic crafted for the Apex and Commander by Gryphon Founder Flemming Rasmussen. Custom-made chassis spikes, developed for Apex, enhance both the mechanical stability and visual harmony of the amplifier. Additionally, bespoke binding posts adorn the rear panel, along with a generous selection of connectors, including dual Subwoofer Outputs, a Tape Loop, and the option to select an XLR or RCA “Unity Gain” Home Theater throughput. The sculpted billet aluminum remote handset from the Commander replaces the previous “Wand” remote supplied with the Diablo 300. A redesigned menu structure offers a more intuitive user interface, while a USB 2.0 socket on the rear panel simplifies firmware upgrades.

Like its predecessor, the Diablo 300, the 333’s functionality can be expanded with optional Phono and DAC modules. Both modules have been completely redesigned for enhanced performance. The PS-3 Phono Module features a True Dual Mono Class A-coupled topology from input to output, with no global negative feedback and discrete balanced circuitry utilizing matched transistor arrays. Gold-plated Neutrik XLR balanced input sockets replace the RCA sockets of the previous generation PS-2S. The MC load impedance can be externally adjusted via left/right rear panel switches, eliminating the need for internal jumpers, and the MC/MM setting is front-panel selectable via the Diablo 333’s menu.

Gryphon’s DAC-3 D/A module incorporates the advanced ES9039PRO High-Performance Sabre DAC. It includes seven user-selectable PCM digital roll-off filters and offers USB, AES/EBU, BNC, and TOSLINK inputs. The USB input supports all current digital audio formats, ensuring compatibility and cutting-edge performance.

A New Icon

For music lovers fortunate enough to own a Diablo 300—as well as those of you who have dreamed of owning one—rest assured: the ‘300 remains one of the finest Integrated Amplifiers available, still outperforming newer and more expensive competitors. And yet, purists who quest for the best will find Diablo 333 superior in virtually every aspect of performance, connectivity and parts specification.

Every detail of its legendary predecessor has been scrutinized and, wherever possible, improved; as a result, The 333 now represents the pinnacle of Integrated Amplifier technology.
