The Pro-Ject X2 B is a belt-drive turntable with a large CNC-machined MDF chassis mounted on 3 vibration-absorbing feet. This construction reduces unwanted resonances to almost imperceptible levels. A DC/AC generator board supplies the silent motor system with clean, stable power, while the speed control board provides automatic switching between 33 and 45 RPM, with additional support for 78 RPM.
The motor is carefully balanced and suspended on a precision-tuned TPE belt, which decouples it from the main plinth. Drive is transferred through a sub-platter system to the heavy, non-resonant Acryl platter, with a premium-grade main bearing providing smooth rotation and a stable platform for vinyl records.
Pro-Ject X2 B uses a one-piece Carbon/Alu tonearm with an integrated headshell. The 9” tonearm is light and stiff, with improved resistance to external interference and increased internal damping. Azimuth and VTA can be adjusted for accurate setup, allowing fine adjustment of the analogue playback system. A TPE-damped counterweight further reduces cartridge and tonearm resonances.
