WS300

The McIntosh WS300 is a 3-way in-wall loudspeaker for 2-channel home audio, distributed audio and multi-channel home theatre installations. A pair can be used for stereo listening or distributed audio with the MI128 or MI254 distribution amplifiers.

For home theatre, the WS300 is voice matched to the WS500 in-wall speaker. It can serve as the centre channel with WS500 speakers in the front left and right positions, or be used for the front, centre and surround channels throughout the system. The CS200 in-ceiling speaker is also voice matched to the WS300 and WS500, allowing it to be added to the system.

The fully enclosed cabinet incorporates a controlled air chamber to minimise distortion and response irregularities. Its driver complement comprises one 8" woofer, two 2" inverted Titanium dome midranges and one 3/4" Titanium dome tweeter. The shallow woofer design fits standard 2x4 wall construction, while its long-throw, high-power design uses a moulded carbon-reinforced cone and moulded elastomeric surround for high linearity. The midrange and tweeter drivers are also used in the XR50 and XR100 home audio speakers.

The grille attaches magnetically for removal and can be painted. It leaves little to no visible edge of the mounting flange, allowing the speaker to blend into its surroundings. All required hardware and mounting mechanisms for post-construction installation are included. An optional rough-in kit, model #RK300, is available.
