Vasari Shibata
The Gold Note Vasari Shibata reaches more of the record groove, extracting detailed information while reducing pressure on the vinyl and wear on the diamond. Its MM cartridge construction uses a high-damping body machined from a single piece of aluminium 7000 alloy, an ultra-rigid lightweight cantilever and a Shibata stylus profile.
The Gold Note Vasari Shibata is a moving-magnet cartridge developed using computer modelling to optimise performance. Its high-damping body is machined from a single piece of 7000-series aluminium alloy, while the ultra-rigid, lightweight aluminium cantilever supports accurate tracking. The body and cantilever work together to keep the stylus closely aligned with the record groove, allowing the diamond to extract the information held in the vinyl.
The Vasari Shibata uses a stylus profile designed by Mr Shibata in the 1970s. It develops the elliptical profile with additional cuts at one end, forming a hybrid, asymmetrical shape. This increases the contact area and significantly reduces the overall pressure applied to the vinyl groove. The stylus reaches all areas of the groove for near-perfect playback, while reducing wear on the record and the diamond.
