V5 Polaris

The IsoTek V5 Polaris is a compact mains power cleaning and distribution bar with 6 individually isolated outlets. It measures 510mm in length, 80mm in width and 50mm in height. Each outlet connects back to the central internal printed circuit board (PCB), rather than being joined in series with the others. This prevents Differential Mode Noise generated by connected audio components from crossing between outlet sockets.

The V5 Polaris uses a delta filter topology rated at 10 times the recommended standard. It provides more than 20dB of power cleaning at 1kHz, referenced to 600Ohms, increasing to 42dB at 10kHz. IsoTek identifies 10kHz as the point at which radio frequency interference (RFI) begins to influence performance, while an amplifier’s ability to reject power supply noise is also relevant. The circuit addresses both Common Mode RFI and Differential Mode mains noise. The PCB has twice the standard copper loading and is silver-plated.

IsoTek’s KERP, or Kirchhoff’s Equal Resistance Path, provides equal resistance and equal power delivery across all 6 outlets. The internal wiring uses a 2sqmm design with pure 6n oxygen-free copper conductor strands, each silver-plated, for low resistance and high amperage. An aerospace-grade Fluorinated Ethylene Propylene (FEP) dielectric protects the conductors and provides a low dielectric resistance for the internal power delivery system.

Protection in the V5 version is rated at 45,000A for instantaneous protection. IsoTek’s sequential and repeatable protection system protects the circuit and connected equipment.

A System Link outlet allows multiple V5 Polaris units to be connected while maintaining a star earth reference and avoiding the need for multiple wall outlet sockets. A wall-hanging bracket system is included for mounting the unit behind an audio equipment rack.

The internal wiring is designed to work with IsoTek power cables, maintaining commonality of design and material properties through an audio wiring loom, whether used for signal-carrying cables or a power cable network. IsoTek’s award-winning Initium power cable is included.
