V5 Elektra

The IsoTek V5 Elektra is a 6-outlet mains power conditioner with 6 independent power cleaning networks in a 450mm-wide, 350mm-deep and 106mm-high enclosure. Each outlet has its own network, preventing Differential Mode Noise from connected equipment crossing between sockets.

2 high-current outlets are intended for amplifiers and use a 2-stage high-current network combining choke and double Pi filter designs. The 4 medium-current outlets are intended for source components, with each using an independent 6-stage delta filter network. These provide almost 20dB of power cleaning at 1kHz, referenced to 600 Ohms, increasing to almost 40dB at 10kHz, which is 10 times greater than the recommended standard.

A further 5 independent filter stages are positioned between each output. Together with IsoTek’s Adaptive Gating system, which is double that of the EVO3 Aquarius, this arrangement is designed to eliminate Differential Mode cross contamination between the power outlets. Differential Mode and Common Mode noise are reduced, while the separate cleaning stages limit cross contamination between connected components.

The V5 Elektra’s electrical architecture uses a PCB design and topology with twice the industry-standard copper loading. The board is silver plated to improve amperage and decrease resistance. Bespoke critical components provide tighter overall tolerances, improved inductance and greater current handling than the EVO3 range. The circuit has twice the inductance and 40% more current than the EVO3 Aquarius, with improved Direct Current Resistance throughout the design. Reducing DCR is part of IsoTek’s aim of bringing performance closer to the zero Ohms ideal.

These changes provide 10A of absolute power and unrestricted current delivery close to 16A transient, within the power company standard and regulations allowed for a product designed for 10A.

KERP, or Kirchhoff’s Equal Resistance Path, provides equal resistance and equal power delivery to all 6 outlets. Internal wiring uses a 2sqmm design with pure 6n oxygen-free copper conductor strands, each silver plated for low resistance and high amperage. An aerospace-grade Fluorinated Ethylene Propylene, or FEP, dielectric protects the conductors and provides a low dielectric resistance for the internal power delivery system.

Instantaneous protection is rated at 67,500A. This protects the circuit and connected equipment through IsoTek’s sequential and repeatable protection system.

The IsoTek V5 Elektra also includes a System Link outlet for connecting multiple units while maintaining a star earth reference and avoiding the need for multiple wall outlet sockets.

Its internal wiring is designed to work with IsoTek power cables, maintaining commonality of design and material properties throughout an audio wiring loom, whether it carries a signal or supplies power. An IsoTek EVO3 Initium power cable is included.
