V5 Corvus

The IsoTek V5 Corvus is a compact power cleaning and distribution bar with 9 individually isolated outlets. It measures 380mm in length, 170mm in width and 50mm in height. Each outlet connects back to the central internal printed circuit board (PCB), rather than sharing a series-connected arrangement. This prevents Differential Mode Noise created by connected audio components from crossing between the sockets.

The V5 Corvus uses a delta filter topology rated at 10 times the recommended standard. It provides more than 20dB of power cleaning at 1kHz, referenced to 600Ohms, increasing to 42dB at 10kHz. Radio frequency interference (RFI) is generally considered to begin influencing performance at 10kHz, while an amplifier’s ability to reject power supply noise is also relevant. The circuit is designed to address both Common Mode RFI and Differential Mode mains noise. Its PCB has twice the standard copper loading and is silver-plated.

IsoTek’s KERP (Kirchhoff’s Equal Resistance Path) provides equal resistance and equal power delivery to all 9 outlets. Each socket is independently isolated to prevent cross-contamination from Differential Mode mains noise. Internal wiring uses a 2sqmm design with pure 6n oxygen free copper conductor strands, each silver-plated, providing low resistance and high amperage. The conductors are protected by an aerospace grade Fluorinated Ethylene Propylene (FEP) dielectric, which has very low dielectric resistance and provides a suitable conductor contact dielectric for the internal power delivery system.

Instantaneous protection in the V5 version is rated at 45,000A. IsoTek’s sequential and repeatable protection system protects the circuit and connected equipment.

The V5 Corvus also has a System Link outlet for connecting multiple units while maintaining a star earth reference and avoiding the need for multiple wall outlet sockets. A wall hanging bracket system is included for mounting the unit behind an audio equipment rack.

The internal wiring is designed to work with IsoTek power cables, maintaining commonality of design and material properties through an audio wiring loom, including both signal-carrying cables and power cable networks. An IsoTek Initium power cable is included.
