U2X

The LUMIN U2X is a flagship network music transport with a separate external power supply, designed around transport-specific circuitry and a newly isolated USB digital audio output. Both units use solid billet CNC aluminium construction, based on the chassis methods developed for the LUMIN X1.

The U2X introduces LUMIN’s most advanced clocking circuitry to date, including 10M clock input and output connections. Two 10M clock outputs can synchronise multiple digital audio devices or allow a master clock configuration, in which one unit provides the timing reference for the others. This can help minimise jitter by keeping connected devices aligned to a consistent, stable timing reference.

The LUMIN U2X chassis is milled from a solid block of aluminium. Its thick, uninterrupted walls provide stiffness and isolation. The separate power supply uses the same solid billet CNC construction, with thick aluminium walls for shielding, separate digital and analogue circuitry, dual toroidal transformers and a low-noise linear regulator.

The specs alone don’t tell you just how solid and well-built this hewn-from-solid pair of chunky slabs of black or silver aluminium feel in the flesh.

LUMIN U2X supports Roon, TIDAL, TIDAL Connect, Qobuz, Qobuz Connect, Spotify, KKBox, QQMusic, FLAC radio stations and more. Its fibre network connection isolates the player from network digital noise, while the dual-network interface includes a built-in network switch.
