T/9x SE

The REL T/9x SE is a Special Edition subwoofer, available in French Racing Blue, Green With Envy™, Italian Racing Red, Tangerine Dream and Le Mon™ Yellow. It combines a radiused cabinet design with a 300-watt Class A/B monoblock amplifier, a carbon fibre centre cap and a choice of finishes intended to complement its engineering.

The T/9x SE uses a driver with an upgraded carbon fibre centre cap. Its increased stiffness supports bass articulation, while a 10-gram reduction in weight allows a faster response. The revised driver also produces a 1.2 dB increase in output.

Driver

REL has developed and refined the driver as the central component of the T/9x SE. The carbon fibre centre cap is stiffer and lighter than the previous design, contributing to faster, more dynamic bass reproduction.

Amplifier

The amplifier is a 300-watt Class A/B monoblock design using MOSFET circuitry with integrated heat sinks. This amplifier platform has powered the Serie T flagship models since 2007, with nearly 90,000 units in circulation, most of them in daily use.

Input filters with an 8 ms response provide the transition between the subwoofer and main speaker. Gain, crossover and LFE Gain are adjusted using rotary analogue controls, while a phase switch provides settings from 0 to 180 degrees. The controls avoid the need for a remote control or app.

Each T/9x SE cabinet has a sleek, radiused design. The badge on top takes 3 days to finish, while each solid billet aluminium foot undergoes a 3-day chroming process. REL applies copper, nickel and chrome in separate layers, allowing 1 day for each coat to set before the next is added.

A Standby Mode switch is included only on 220V units.
