T/5x

The REL T/5x is a compact subwoofer for small and medium rooms, with a floor-firing design that sends bass energy into the floor and distributes it evenly through the room. This allows the T/5x to perform like a larger model while integrating into a range of interiors without a visible grille.

The cabinet is slightly larger in volume than its predecessor, although design changes reduce its apparent visual size. Gently rounded corners help the eye pass over the cabinet, reducing its visible mass without adding unnecessary decoration. The softly rounded enclosure is finished with 5 hand-polished coats of lacquer, available in High Gloss White or Piano Black.

360-degree design

REL developed the T/5x’s physical design around its performance requirements. The increased cabinet volume provides the acoustic space needed for greater fluidity and power, while the cabinet proportions and rounded corner radii maintain a compact appearance. The result is a modern design with familiar proportions.

Long-throw 8-inch bass driver

The REL T/5x uses a single long-throw 8” (200mm) bass driver derived from the T/7x. Its cone combines aluminium and light paper to reproduce fine detail while providing the energy needed to reach deeper than its size suggests. The driver’s throw, or ability to play louder, has been increased for the T/5x. Internal suspension improvements provide greater power and control.

125 W Class A/B amplifier

The T/5x builds on the 125 W Class A/B amplifier used in its predecessor. Key internal components have been upgraded to improve transparency and speed while retaining REL’s established approach to reliability.

Separate High Level and Low Level inputs support integration with conventional loudspeakers and powered active speakers. A dedicated .1/LFE input is provided for home theatre use, allowing automatic changeover between high-end 2-channel music systems and theatre operation without changing settings.

A Standby Mode switch is included only on 220V units.
