Statement Power Cable 1.5m

The Jorma Design Statement is a 1.5m power cable developed over 7 years, drawing on decades of cable design experience. Its construction uses selected materials inside and out, including an extra dense walnut shell and ultrapure ceramics in the core. The design is intended to provide a pure and clean signal.

Copper
Jorma Design uses high-purity copper in its loudspeaker cables, interconnects and power cables, following experimentation with other materials and copper configurations. The copper is selected for a neutral, transparent and natural musical signal. Purity refers not only to oxygen content, but also to other contaminating materials and metals. Every conductor is subjected to a spark test using 6000 V impulse tension before being used in cable production.

Teflon
The dielectric used in Jorma Design cables is non-coloured Teflon of high purity.

Connectors
Connectors are selected for their contribution to sound quality, and any solder used is selected on the same basis. The connectors on these cables are assembled with gold-plated copper crimps, without solder.

Conductors
The conductors use a special ceramic glass fibre filler with ultra-thin threads. Hundreds of these fibres sit inside each conductor, with thin copper threads wound precisely in parallel around them. This creates a thin tube whose thickness varies according to the cable series. Jorma Design found that a thinner tube produced better-sounding results, but a copper tube of this type would not be sufficiently stable for normal use. The fine copper is therefore twined around a pure ceramic fibre filler centre, keeping the conductor as close as possible to a tube form. Although this construction is difficult to produce, the finished conductor is highly resistant to damage.

Shielding
Jorma Design cables use shielding to reject radio frequency interference (RFI) and electromagnetic interference (EMI), while also helping to stabilise the cable against vibration and microphonics. Power cables use a different type of steel shielding from the other Jorma Design cable types. The other cables are heavily shielded with tin-plated copper, which works with the conductor geometry to remove incoming and outgoing RFI and EMI without compromising the audio signal.

The cable structure, together with the materials used throughout the design, contributes to the intended natural sound of Jorma Design Statement.

Size
The relatively thin appearance of Jorma Design cables results from the use of only the necessary amount of insulation around the conductors. Increasing the insulation beyond what is required for strength, safety and long-term durability would affect the sound. The cable size is therefore determined by the construction rather than by thickness or weight.

Quality control
Each Jorma Design cable combines a specific design and structure with selected materials. Every cable must meet strict criteria before leaving the factory and is individually tested to confirm that it meets those standards.

The Sound
Jorma Design states that every cable must sound musical. In this context, musical means allowing the owner to listen to music for extended periods without the cable drawing attention away from it. The intended result is a natural presentation that allows the audio system to create an immersive sound field.
