Speaker Reference III

The Furutech Speaker Reference III, a speaker cable, uses double-shielded a (Alpha)-OCC conductors and GC-303 antimagnetic EMI-absorbent modules to reduce radiated noise. Its air-foamed irradiated PE insulation reduces capacitance and damps vibration, while rhodium-plated pure copper spades support clarity, dynamics and a quieter soundstage.

The Furutech Speaker Reference III is a double-shielded speaker cable using a (Alpha)-OCC conductors to reduce radiated noise. Each cable is surrounded by Formula GC-303 antimagnetic EMI-absorbent modules, while air-foamed irradiated PE insulation reduces capacitance and damps vibration.

Connection is provided by FP-201 (R) spade terminals, made from nonmagnetic rhodium-plated pure copper. Nonmagnetic rhodium-plated eutectic cast brass FP-202 (R) banana connectors are available by request. The connectors are high-performance components with rhodium plating and pure copper construction.

The a (Alpha) conductor is composed of fine PCOCC wire strands treated with Furutech’s a (Alpha) cryogenic and demagnetising process. All metal parts receive the FURUTECH a (Alpha) Process, comprising super cryogenic and demagnetising treatment.

The cable is designed to provide greater resolution, clarity and powerful dynamics, with a quiet soundstage in which music develops without artificial upper-frequency ‘presence region’ glare. GC-303 supports deeper, tighter bass, providing a foundation for the rest of the frequency range and helping define the original recording venue. Detail, nuance and energy are presented in a natural, unforced manner.

Commenting on Furutech cables, Srajan Ebaen of 6moons.co described a presentation that avoids the peculiar striations associated with highlighting, including the sharp edge definition sometimes linked with silver cables. He considered that kind of edging to produce an etched character and a short-lived impression of detail, which could sound unrealistic and fatiguing.
