The Focal Sopra Center is a centre loudspeaker for home cinema systems, designed to integrate with the other models in the Sopra range. Its role extends beyond dialogue, with the midrange responsible for precision and coherence between the visuals and the soundstage. Although it reproduces many voices from the centre of the image, its spectrum also covers music, sound effects and other sounds.
The Sopra Center is intended to complement the Sopra N°1 bookshelf loudspeakers and the Sopra N°2 and Sopra N°3 floorstanding loudspeakers. All models in the line are consistent in output, rendering and scale, and each driver uses Focal technologies including 'W' composite sandwich cones and pure Beryllium inverted dome tweeters. This allows sound from either side of the image to be reproduced without variation in timbre, maintaining a consistent soundstage across the system.
Focal manufactures the Sopra Center's speaker drivers in France. The compact cabinet uses 2 x 61/2" (16.5cm) 'W' cone woofers, a 3" (8cm) 'W' cone midrange and a 11/16" (27mm) pure Beryllium IAL tweeter. The loudspeaker is available in a Black Lacquer finish.
