The Sonus Faber Sonetto VIII G2 is a floor-standing speaker developed from the technologies introduced for Suprema, with a design approach informed by acoustic science and Sonus faber’s Natural Sound philosophy.
The Sonetto G2 Collection includes stand-mounted speakers, floor-standing speakers and wall-mount options. Each model uses high-quality materials and reflects Italian craftsmanship.
CAMELIA MIDRANGE SPEAKER
Developed first for Suprema, the Camelia midrange speaker uses an unpainted membrane shaped in reference to the camellia flower. This form is mounted on an organic basket and avoids the resonances associated with circular membranes. An aluminium phase plug optimises frequency response and clarity both on and off axis. The Camelia midrange is used in Sonetto VIII, Sonetto V and Sonetto Centre.
Cork internal volume
Sonetto VIII and Sonetto V incorporate a cork chamber derived from the design of Sonus faber’s Suprema speakers. Its organic form supports midrange resolution and the Natural Sound character by allowing sound waves to flow through the chamber without the interruptions created by regular walls. This also provides control over sound propagation and resonance.
FLOWER-PATTERNED WOOFER SURROUND
The woofer and mid-woofer surrounds use a Camelia pattern that reduces interference and improves sound dispersion, as well as providing a visual link with the midrange design. Their cones use paper pulp sandwich structures for a precise, dynamic bass response and are paired with organic baskets designed to support airflow.
SILK DOME D.A.D. TWEETER
The silk dome tweeter provides detailed high-frequency reproduction and completes the balanced presentation of the Sonetto VIII G2.
