Sonetto V G2

The Sonus Faber Sonetto V G2 is a floor-standing speaker from the Sonetto G2 Collection, inheriting technological developments first created for Suprema. Its design follows a science-driven approach and Sonus faber’s Natural Sound philosophy, using high-quality materials and Italian craftsmanship.

CAMELIA MIDRANGE SPEAKER

Developed first for Suprema, the Camelia midrange speaker uses an unpainted membrane shaped around the camellia flower. Leaving the membrane unpainted supports sound purity, while its organic basket forms part of the driver design. The shape avoids resonances associated with circular membranes and supports Sonus faber’s Natural Sound signature. An aluminium phase plug optimises frequency response and clarity both on and off axis. The Camelia midrange is also used in Sonetto VIII and Sonetto Centre.

Cork internal volume

Sonetto V G2 uses the cork chamber design developed for Suprema, also found in Sonetto VIII. The organic internal volume supports midrange resolution and the Natural Sound character of both models. Its shape allows sound waves to flow through the chamber without the restrictions of regular walls, providing control over sound propagation and resonance.

FLOWER-PATTERNED WOOFER SURROUND

The woofer and mid-woofer surrounds use a camellia pattern that helps reduce interference and improve sound dispersion. Their cones use paper pulp sandwich structures for a precise, dynamic bass response, while the organic baskets support airflow.

SILK DOME D.A.D. TWEETER

The silk dome tweeter provides detailed high-frequency reproduction and completes the balanced presentation of the Sonetto G2 speakers.
