Twin 8-inch C-CAM bass drivers feature Monitor Audio’s latest Rigid Surface Technology III (RST III). The advanced cone geometry increases rigidity while controlling unwanted resonances, allowing the Silver 500 8G to deliver deep, powerful and highly controlled low frequencies with impressive speed and definition.
A dedicated 3-inch C-CAM RST III midrange driver handles vocals and instruments with excellent clarity and natural detail. By separating the midrange from the demands of the large bass drivers, the three-way configuration provides greater transparency and a more open, spacious presentation.
High frequencies are reproduced by Monitor Audio’s redesigned 25mm C-CAM Gold Dome tweeter. Its revised motor system has been developed to provide a smoother, more refined high-frequency response, combining excellent detail with low distortion and impressive dynamic capability.
Silver Series 8G also introduces Silent Flow Port Technology, carefully controlling airflow through the bass reflex system to reduce turbulence and unwanted port noise. Combined with the twin 8-inch drivers, this helps the Silver 500 8G achieve an impressive in-room bass response extending down to 28Hz.
An improved crossover network, Through-Bolt driver fixing and rigid cabinet construction further contribute to the speaker’s clean and controlled performance, while redesigned stabilisers provide a secure foundation.
