Serafino G2

The Sonus Faber Serafino G2 is a second-generation loudspeaker shaped by the musical and craft traditions associated with 18th-century Venice. Its name refers to Santo Serafino, who built violins with a close relationship between appearance and sound.

The Serafino G2 forms part of the Sonus faber Homage series, which draws on Italy’s long history of musical innovation and the work of master artisans including Andrea Amati, Santo Serafino and Giuseppe Guarneri. The design combines traditional craftsmanship with contemporary styling, while updated technology is intended to preserve musical detail and create a powerful, three-dimensional presentation that conveys the sensation of a live performance.

Its wood, lute-shaped cabinet is offered in Graphite, Wengè and Red finishes. The latest Homage generation introduces technological upgrades while retaining the series’ design language and focus on musical detail.

Sonus faber Chief Design Officer Livio Cucuzza describes the development process as an exercise in improving a product regarded as a timeless design. His approach was to study why the original product was created before developing it further with his team at Sonus faber. The third generation of Homage was the first product he worked on, while the latest launch is the fifth, representing a more developed and mature stage while remaining authentic to the series.
