S/850

The REL S/850 is a high-end subwoofer for music systems and home theatres, using an 850-watt Linear Class D amplifier and CarbonAlloy™ driver technology developed for REL’s Reference line. It is intended for medium-to-large rooms, with the speed, control and output required for demanding music and movie soundtracks.

The 12" CarbonAlloy™ active driver operates with a 12" long-stroke passive radiator to produce deep bass while maintaining precision and agility. The S/850 is designed for serious system building and can be used in stereo pairs or line-array configurations to create greater scale, impact and a more immersive soundstage.

The Serie S incorporates developments introduced with the S/850 across the family, with attention given to speed, control and dynamic expression. At high output levels, the latest Serie S delivers fast attack and output beyond that of the former Carbon Special, while retaining the precision, low noise and clarity needed for a wide dynamic range.

Fast transients, deep bass and tonal detail support the presentation of both music and film soundtracks, allowing more nuance to remain audible across the performance.
