S/550

The REL S/550 is a compact subwoofer for high-end music systems and immersive home theatres, designed for medium-sized rooms. It uses a 550-watt Pure Class D amplifier with CarbonAlloy™ driver technology to provide controlled dynamics, deep extension and detailed musical nuance.

The 10" CarbonAlloy™ active driver works with a 12" down-firing passive radiator. This combination produces deep, agile bass with the speed and precision needed for delicate musical passages and demanding cinematic material. The S/550 can be used in stereo pairs and line-array configurations.

The S/550 carries forward many of the design innovations used in the larger S/850, bringing the engineering and character of the Serie S range into a more compact cabinet. Its response combines fast transients, deep and articulate bass, and balanced tonality for music and film.

The cabinet provides greater internal volume while retaining a visually light form. Horizontal strakes, elliptical returns, warm golden-silver handles, discreet badges, silver accents and etched model numbers form part of the Serie S design. Increased internal volume gives the drivers greater freedom and helps the amplifier operate efficiently, while updated internal bracing controls cabinet resonances.

Front-rail levelling adjusters assist setup on uneven floors. An optional Premium Wood Grille adds the character of natural wood and provides an alternative finish for the REL S/550.
