RS520

The HiFi Rose RS520 is an all-in-one network streamer with a built-in network player, DAC and amplifier. Its DAC section uses the ESS ES9038PRO, while the Class AD amplifier employs a GaN FET design developed with new material technology. The RS520 brings the main functions of an all-in-one network streamer together through ROSE’s design and development work accumulated over many years.

Design

The RS520 uses a refined design intended to retain its character over time, with a bold ventilation opening for heat dissipation. Its housing is made from high-durability 6000 class aluminium and manufactured as a single part across 4 sides. This construction reduces vibration between separated components and helps reduce noise waves that can affect sound quality.

12.6 Inch Wide LCD Touchscreen

A spacious, wide-viewing-angle multi-touch LCD screen provides the interface for the RS520 and places emphasis on visible audio. The panel measures 309*82.9 (㎜) and has a resolution of 1920*515, providing a smooth and clear display.

ES9038PRO DAC

The ES9038PRO DAC chip from ESS is specified with total harmonic distortion plus noise of -122 ㏈ and a dynamic range of 140 ㏈. It supports PCM up to 768 ㎑ and 32 bit, together with DSD512. ESS’s dedicated jitter canceller is also included to support clear audio reproduction.

GaN based Class AD Amplifier

The Class AD amplifier uses a gallium nitride GaN FET to reduce dead time by 1/3, improving linearity. It delivers 250 W per channel, with an operating design focused on amplifier speed and accuracy and on achieving a Class D amplifier structure.

Discrete OP AMP

ROSE’s discrete operational amplifier is used in the IV circuit required for current DAC operation. Its design focuses on high open loop gain, low open loop distortion, low noise, low drift and low offset. The operational amplifier also provides a wide bandwidth and power supply range for analogue audio amplification, supporting depth in the sound. The circuit is designed to reproduce the vividness of deep bass and treble in a live performance, while maintaining comfortable resonance through the inter-band connection.
