The KEF Reference 1 Meta is a compact, 3-way standmount loudspeaker and the sole standmount model in the Reference series. It uses KEF’s 12th generation Uni-Q® driver array with MAT™ to produce expansive, high-performance sound from its relatively compact enclosure.
Reference series development
The Reference series has set a benchmark for loudspeakers and sound reproduction since 1973. KEF pioneered the use of digital technologies to achieve high audio accuracy, and each pair can be matched within 0.5dB to the laboratory-maintained reference standard.
Acoustic engineering
KEF engineers have continued to develop the Reference design since the first model was introduced. Each subsequent version has built on the science of acoustics and the possibilities offered by The Reference.
Designed, engineered and handcrafted in UK
KEF has been creating loudspeakers at its UK home in Maidstone, Kent, since 1961. The Reference remains KEF’s flagship HiFi loudspeaker range and is designed, engineered and handcrafted in Maidstone.
