PSX-5.2

The Gold Note PSX-5.2 is a dedicated external power supply developed specifically for components in the Gold Note 5.2 Series. Evolving the concept of the earlier PSU-5, it is designed to provide cleaner, more stable power while reducing electrical and magnetic interference, allowing compatible electronics to perform with greater clarity, control and refinement.

Its black anodised aluminium chassis has been engineered to reduce interaction with magnetic fields, helping to create a quieter background and reveal more low-level musical information. Internally, a high-current power supply and ultra-low-noise voltage regulation provide stable power delivery even during demanding musical passages.

The PSX-5.2 uses a four-rail audio-grade power supply with two ultra-low-noise voltage regulators. By improving the quality and stability of the power supplied to the connected component, it can contribute to greater dynamic authority, improved image focus and a more solid, spacious soundstage.

A particularly useful feature is its dual-output architecture. The PSX-5.2 can remain connected to both a compatible Gold Note phono stage, such as the PH-5 or PH-5.2, and a line-level component including the CD-5, CD-5.2, HP-5.2 or DS-5.2. When one component is selected, the available energy reserve is dedicated entirely to that unit for maximum stability and performance.

Designed as a straightforward upgrade within the Gold Note ecosystem, the PSX-5.2 allows a Series 5.2 system to develop without replacing the main component. The improvements are focused on the fundamentals of audio performance, including lower background noise, improved micro-detail, stronger dynamics and a more stable presentation.
