Planar PL-2

The REL Planar PL-2 is an ultra-thin wall-mountable subwoofer designed for modern living spaces. Its slim cabinet, flowing radiused edges and deep lacquer finishes allow placement where a conventional subwoofer may be intrusive, while recessed controls and concealed cable management keep the installation visually discreet. Optional hardwood grilles are also available.

Designed to work closely with the wall behind it, the Planar PL-2 uses boundary-effect coupling to produce deep, room-filling bass and scale from a cabinet that occupies little to no floor space. It can be placed near the wall or directly on it, with an optional cart providing flexible placement. The cabinet is available in Black or White lacquer.

Power comes from a 500-watt Pure Class D amplifier, driving an 8" FlatPiston driver and a 10" boundary-coupled passive radiator. Built-in Airship Direct wireless provides a wireless connection, while REL’s VIMAR system, or Vibration Isolation Material and Resonance Control, is integrated into the mounting brackets to reduce unwanted energy transfer into the wall while retaining bass speed and integrity.
