Pianosa

The Gold Note Pianosa is a manually crafted turntable that combines traditional analogue design with contemporary materials and form. Gold Note has focused on analogue and vinyl for almost 25 years, with this experience informing the development of its turntables.

The curved plinth is made from Italian walnut hardwood, with the shape inspired by the Tuscan landscape. Local craftsmen make each plinth from selected woods chosen for their strength and density. The curved wooden structure is coupled to a 20mm MDF plinth and reinforced with a 3mm stainless steel plate. This multiple-plinth construction combines a 50mm curved plinth made from Italian walnut hardwood slats with a lacquered MDF plinth, a stainless steel board and the black lacquered MDF layer used to control vibration.

QUADRAL-CORE POWER SUPPLY

The power supply provides electronic control for 33/45rpm operation and fine speed adjustment. Every adjustment is stored in memory, including when the turntable is disconnected from the AC supply. A proprietary power control generator, built around a Quadral-Core micro-controller and an audio converter, reshapes the AC wave to control the 12V synchronous motor precisely. The arrangement provides high torque and is designed to reduce vibration while supporting dynamics and resolution.

HIGH PRECISION PLATTER

Gold Note Pianosa uses a high-precision platter bearing and spindle system. The rectified spindle is made from hardened chromed steel, the bearing system uses hardened steel and bronze, and the chromed ball bearing supports rotational stability and low noise. The 23mm platter is made from rigid, damped Poly-Vinyl, while the polished hourglass pulley is shaped to improve transmission. Together, these components are designed to reduce vibration, noise and wow & flutter while improving rotational stability.

EASY SET UP

The turntable is supplied ready to play with a dedicated Gold Note B-5.1 tonearm and a custom-moulded transparent polycarbonate dust cover. Detachable hinges allow the dust cover to be removed easily.

EXTRA RIGID & DAMPENED

The rigid, compact structure combines the technical construction with the smooth lines of the curved wooden plinth. The Italian walnut, stainless steel and lacquered MDF elements work together to control vibration within the multiple-plinth design.
