The EAR Yoshino PhonoBox is a valve phono stage for vinyl playback, available in Moving Magnet and MM/MC versions. Its all-valve circuit uses 3 13D16 triodes and is designed to provide an open, fluid presentation with detailed sound, dynamic expression and a rich midrange.

Developed as the successor to the EAR 834P, the PhonoBox uses a compact chassis while retaining the tonal character associated with valve amplification. It combines this with clarity, wide bandwidth and rhythmic drive, making it suitable for intimate acoustic recordings as well as more dynamic music.

The MM/MC version includes internal step-up transformers to provide the additional gain required by low-output moving-coil cartridges, with a low-noise circuit. Both versions accommodate a wide range of cartridges. The PhonoBox has an RCA analogue output and is available with a black or Deluxe chrome finish.
