PH-1000 Lite & PSU-1000

The Gold Note PH-1000 LITE is a phono stage for vinyl playback, supplied with the PSU-1000 power supply. It has 3 independent inputs, comprising 2 unbalanced RCA inputs and 1 balanced XLR input, for use with multiple turntables or tonearms. Stereo and mono playback are supported, together with a wide range of selectable equalisation curves.

Supported EQ curves include RIAA, Capitol, Columbia/CBS, Deutsche Grammophon, Decca London (USA and UK), Decca Mono 78rpm, Epic, HMV, Mercury, RCA Victor, Philips, Elektra, L'Oiseau-Lyre and Parlophone, along with many others. Gold Note's proprietary technology, inspired by the Neumann cutting lathe, also provides an Enhanced mode. This allows each curve to be fine-tuned for dynamics, tonal accuracy and musical realism.

Control is provided by a full-colour display and Gold Note's proprietary firmware. The Single Knob Control (SKC) interface gives access to the settings and allows adjustments without interrupting music playback. An integrated headphone output takes the signal directly from the phono stage, keeping the signal path from the record through the turntable and PH-1000 LITE to the headphones as short as possible.

The PH-1000 LITE uses a precision-machined aluminium chassis and selected electronic components. Each unit undergoes computer-controlled quality testing for reliability and sonic performance.

The PSU-1000 uses a Super Inductive Dual Choke hybrid design, with an inductive filter on the analogue stage and a dual choke arrangement controlled by a double inductor that drives both the negative and positive high-current stages. This Gold Note technology filters the signal voltages to reduce interference and electrical noise from the AC power system.

Its 1000 watt power supply provides insulation from the AC power grid and a shielded operating environment for the electronics. The power supply is designed to reduce noise and support dynamic range, resolution, fine detail and musical realism. The PSU-1000 is powered by 5 transformers, with 3 dedicated to the power supply, 1 for the inductive choke filter and 1 for galvanic insulation of the audio stage.
