Pegasus RCA 1m

The AudioQuest Pegasus RCA 1m uses Solid Perfect-Surface Copper+ conductors and Level 6 noise dissipation to reduce grain-boundary distortion and radio-frequency noise. ZERO-Tech removes characteristic impedance, while the 72v Dielectric-Bias System and polypropylene air-tube insulation reduce dielectric noise across a wide bandwidth. ** Please call for all available configurations **

Solid Perfect-Surface Copper+ (PSC+) Conductors
Solid conductors avoid electrical and magnetic interaction between strands. PSC+ solid copper reduces distortion associated with grain boundaries and improves linear RF noise dissipation.

Level 6 Noise-Dissipation: ZERO-Tech + Carbon/Graphene Mesh-Network + Direction-Controlled
Radio-frequency noise from cellular networks, WiFi and satellites is widespread. AudioQuest’s Level 6 Linear Noise-Dissipation system combines a carbon and graphene resistive mesh network, direction-controlled conductors and silver-plated drain wires to minimise the masking effects of RF noise.

ZERO-Tech, with no Characteristic Impedance, for Linear, Wide-Bandwidth Noise-Dissipation
Characteristic-impedance mismatch between a cable and its source and load circuits can be avoided by preventing the cable from having a characteristic impedance. ZERO-Tech eliminates the electrostatic field between the high and low signal conductors, providing linear, consistent-octave-to-octave RF noise dissipation and uncompressed transients. To maintain complete isolation between the signal conductors, Pegasus, ThunderBird, FireBird and Dragon XLR cables include a Dual-72v DBS pack.

72v Dielectric-Bias System (DBS)
Insulation is also a dielectric and can act as a shunt filter. Biasing reduces dielectric noise and linearises the filter, improving the dissipation of induced RF noise across a wide bandwidth.

Polypropylene Air-Tube Insulation
Any solid material next to a conductor forms part of an imperfect circuit and can absorb energy, storing and releasing some of it as distortion. Where a small diameter is required, AudioQuest uses Polypropylene Air-Tube Insulation. Air absorbs almost no energy, while polypropylene is low-loss and has a benign distortion profile. Its high air content therefore produces less of the out-of-focus effect associated with other materials.

6% Silver-Plated RF Drain-Wires
Direction-controlled silver-plated RF drain wires help dissipate induced radio-frequency noise efficiently, supporting clearer, more natural sound.

Copper-Plated RF-Draining Barrels
Grounded copper-plated barrels maximise noise dissipation by preventing the metal barrel from capacitively coupling RF to the conductors.

Hanging-Silver over Red Copper Plugs
AudioQuest’s highest-specification plugs use hanging silver, rather than tumbled silver, directly over high-purity red copper to maintain signal transfer.
