The Plinius P100 is a compact phono preamplifier for low-output MC and higher-output MM cartridges. Its curved chassis follows the clean, minimal Plinius design, with only a blue LED indicator and Plinius branding on the exterior.
The P100 uses amplification and equalisation circuitry derived from the phono stage in the Plinius Hiato. Its componentry is selected for longevity, while rear-panel controls provide adjustment of loading, gain and input capacitance to support a wide range of cartridges.
Both single-ended and balanced output signals are provided. The circuit combines passive high-frequency equalisation with active low-frequency equalisation, delicately amplifying very small cartridge signals and presenting the detail contained in the recording.
With its compact format and adaptable phono circuitry, the Plinius P100 is designed to complete a high-fi system using either MC or MM cartridges.
