OLYMPICA G3 - ACOUSTIC INNOVATION - DRIVERS - CAMELIA DESIGN

• All the midranges, mid-woofer and woofers are brand new, designed implementing the latest technical advancement.

• The Camelia midrange, responsible for the most important part of the acoustic spectrum, was originally developed for Suprema by the team of electroacoustic engineers to ensure maximum resolution, while maintaining the legendary natural sound of Sonus faber.

• The shape of the new membrane, inspired by natural shapes, hence the name camellia, is not circular and is not masked by the suspensions. The distributed waves propagation structure avoids the formation of resonances typical of circular shapes and offers its entire surface to the listener.

• The phase-plug applied the new Damping Ring which optimizes the air movement of the driver to reduce turbulence while guiding soundwaves to reinforce their propagation into a more consistent wave pattern at listening distances.

• The result is a smoother frequency response with higher levels of clarity both on and off axis.

• The patented organic basket exemplifies the fusion of advanced technology and nature-inspired design principles for enhanced sound reproduction.

• Found not only in our Reference, Homage and Wireless Collections, but also in the Sonetto G2 series and now in the new Olympica G3 series, the basket’s asymmetrical shape provides structural support to the driver without recurring patterns.

• This distinctive, nature-evocative design promotes superior airflow
around the driver, ensuring impeccable sound quality.

OLYMPICA G3 - ACOUSTIC INNOVATION - DUMPING STRUCTURE - CORK

In the Olympica III and V the combination of tweeter and midrange are loaded in a closed internal volume, designed to enhance the performance of the drivers.

This chamber is damped with a specific cork structure, whose waves are determined by computer simulated test, but resulting in a purely organic shape, and build in a new, natural and sustainable material.

Sonus faber can proudly claim to have been the first to use recycled cork to create acoustic volume (Suprema experience). The acoustic properties of this material play a fundamental role in terms of resolution and naturalness of the midrange performance.
