The McIntosh MX200 is an A/V processor for home theatre systems, with up to 11.2 channels of signal processing and support for configurations from 5.1 to 7.2.4 surround sound. It is suitable for DIY systems and custom installations, with a streamlined design for use in a home entertainment space.

The MX200 supports 8K, 4K and HD content from streaming services, as well as Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD discs. Dolby Atmos and DTS:X immersive audio formats are supported, alongside video up to 8K.

There are 4 HDMI inputs and 1 HDMI output, supporting 8K/60Hz and 4K/120Hz video, HDCP 2.3, Dolby Vision, HDR10+ and HLG High Dynamic Range formats, 4:4:4 colour spacing, Rec. 2020 and 3D video pass-through. The HDMI output includes enhanced Audio Return Channel, or eARC. A compatible television can send audio to the processor through the HDMI cable, without a separate audio connection. The increased bandwidth of eARC supports higher-resolution formats including DTS-HD Master Audio, DTS:X, Dolby TrueHD and Dolby Atmos.

Digital connectivity includes 2 coaxial and 2 optical audio inputs for sources such as a CD player, tuner or music streamer. Analogue connections include a Moving Magnet phono input for a turntable, together with a pair of balanced and unbalanced auxiliary inputs.

For connection to home theatre amplifiers, the McIntosh MX200 has 11 discrete balanced outputs and 2 discrete unbalanced subwoofer outputs. Its 7 32-bit Digital-to-analogue Converters provide high-resolution audio processing, while bass and treble controls allow the sound to be adjusted to personal preferences.

Dirac Live Room Correction Full Bandwidth, including the licence, is supplied with the MX200. The system adjusts the sound for the room and reduces unwanted acoustic effects. Its audio algorithms provide time-domain correction through patented mixed-phase filter technology. An intuitive interface and step-by-step guidance support setup and personalisation.

Dirac Live is used by hi-fi and home theatre manufacturers, with applications ranging from bedroom stereo systems and professional mixing studios to home theatres. The room correction system has been used by hundreds of thousands of people worldwide.

The aluminium and glass front panel allows the processor to sit on a credenza or TV console, while its compact 2U rack size suits installation in an A/V equipment rack. Rack mounting brackets are included for custom installations and built home theatre rooms.

Configuration files can be pre-configured by an integrator and loaded during installation. You or your integrator can also back up a configuration file to a computer or USB stick, allowing different settings to be tested while retaining the original setup.

Operation is available through the remote control, or an integrator can connect the processor to a home automation system using the RS232 control protocol. The MX200 has Connects with Control4 Certification from Control4, using its Simple Device Discovery Protocol, and can be integrated into Control4 automation systems. It also has Works with Crestron Home certification from Crestron, supporting integration with Crestron Home systems for projects of different sizes, with configuration and deployment for integrators and control through Crestron hardware.

The processor can be combined with McIntosh home theatre amplifiers including the MC255 5-Channel Amplifier, MC257 7-Channel Amplifier and rack-mountable MI347 7-Channel Amplifier. For additional surround or ceiling speakers, the rack-mountable MI254 4-Channel Amplifier and MI128 8-Channel Amplifier can be added.
