The McIntosh MT5 is a complete precision turntable package, supplied with a high-performance platter and motor drive assembly, precision tonearm and high-output moving-coil cartridge. The cartridge is also compatible with moving-magnet inputs. Its illuminated, magnetically suspended platter produces a visible glow, while the matching McIntosh styling and chassis materials are designed to suppress noise, resonance and colouration.
Factory adjustment includes tracking force, anti-skate force, cartridge overhang and tonearm height. Advanced magnetic platter bearings and the precise belt-drive motor provide stable, quiet record rotation. The custom tonearm uses magnetic anti-skate and horizontal tonearm bearings to track records with minimal friction. Although the MT5 uses carefully specified construction, setup is completed in a few straightforward steps. A clear, form-fitting dust cover protects the turntable's moving parts and records. The McIntosh MT5 is compatible with any McIntosh stereo pre-amplifier and is suited to a two-channel stereo system.
