MI254

The McIntosh MI254 is a 4-channel digital amplifier for distributed audio, home theatre and 2-channel stereo playback. Its closed-loop digital switching amplifiers deliver 250 Watts into 8 Ohm speakers or 300 Watts into 4 Ohm speakers, supported by robust power supplies.

As a Class D amplifier, the MI254 operates without cooling fans to maintain nominal operating temperature. Its installer-friendly dimensions allow 2U rack mounting with the included removable mounting ears, while the ears can be removed for non-rack installations. In a home theatre system, it can drive surround sound speakers and integrate with virtually any existing installation.

Two blue McIntosh Watt Meters on the front panel show the summed power output of channels 1 + 2 and channels 3 + 4. Multi-colour LED indicators show the status of each channel. On the rear panel, every channel has balanced and unbalanced inputs, together with standard 5-way speaker binding posts.
