The McIntosh MC830 is a mono power amplifier rated at 300 Watts into 8 Ohms and 480 Watts into 4 Ohms. A pair of MC830 amplifiers can be used with a pre-amplifier, source components such as a turntable, CD player or streaming music player, and a pair of speakers to form a home audio system. The matching C8 Vacuum Tube Preamplifier is one suitable pre-amplifier.

Using a similar footprint to the MA252 Integrated Amplifier, the MC830 has a direct coupled output design and a fast-responding Dual Scale Watt meter for displaying power output with both speaker impedances. Monogrammed Heatsinksâ„¢ help dissipate heat, while balanced and unbalanced inputs provide connections to the rest of the system.

Power Guard® monitors the amplifier output signal to protect speakers against being over driven. If required, it makes real time micro adjustments to the input signal to prevent clipping that could damage the speakers.

Sentry Monitorâ„¢ provides fuse-less short-circuit protection by disengaging the MC830 output stage before current exceeds safe operating levels. The circuit resets automatically when operating conditions return to normal.

Solid Cinchâ„¢ speaker binding posts secure speaker cables and help prevent them from coming loose and possibly causing a short. The binding posts are gold-plated to prevent corrosion and ensure a quality audio signal is sent to the speakers. Power Control ports send power on and off signals to other connected McIntosh components for system start-up and shutdown. A user-selectable Auto Off feature switches off the MC830 after 30 minutes if no audio signal is received.

Each side of the chassis carries a die cast aluminium name badge. The front, top and rear panels have a polished mirror finish, while the front panel is made from black glass with silver trim. The MC830 also has a blue Watt meter, an illuminated logo and control knobs.

Please note, the listed price is for a single amplifier.
