The McIntosh MC303 is a 3-channel power amplifier with McIntosh Autoformers and 300 watts per channel. It delivers its full rated output into 2, 4 or 8 ohm loudspeaker loads, with low noise and distortion performance. The output stage can supply 60 amps of current, while large gold-plated five-way binding posts provide the speaker connections.
Its construction includes a 1/2" thick glass front panel, custom-machined and anodised aluminium handles, and a mirror-polished stainless steel chassis. A triple bank of peak-reading watt meters provides an immediate indication of power output and can be switched off for home cinema use.
The McIntosh MC303 incorporates the McIntosh Power Assurance System, a collection of technologies intended to support performance and reliability while protecting the amplifier and connected loudspeakers.

Power Guard is a waveform comparison circuit that continuously monitors the input and output signals. It dynamically adjusts the input level to prevent clipping and harsh-sounding distortion at high power levels.
- SENTRY MONITOR
Sentry Monitor is a fuse-less short-circuit protection circuit. It disengages the output stage before the current exceeds a safe operating level and resets automatically.
- OUTPUT AUTOFORMER
The McIntosh Output Autoformer delivers the amplifier's full rated output with the least possible distortion into 2, 4 or 8 ohm loudspeaker impedances. This allows the MC303 to be used with loudspeakers of any of these impedances while retaining its rated power output.
- WATTMETER
The watt meters have a swift, accurate response that reveals programme peaks, making it easier to keep within the power limits of connected loudspeakers.
