MC20
The Aurender MC20 centres on a rubidium 10 MHz master clock, with 2 discrete OCXO word clock modules generating 44.1 kHz and 48 kHz frequencies. Its low-jitter synchronisation supports clarity, transparency and stable instrument placement, while 4 10 MHz master clock outputs and 4 word clock outputs connect compatible source and DAC components.

Accuracy and Stability
In a digital audio system, the rate at which digital data is transmitted and received is important. All devices in the digital signal path must be synchronised to maintain a coherent presentation. For clarity, transparency, focused imaging and natural realism, the digital source, DAC, and any upsamplers or converters should receive the same synchronised clock signal from a precise and stable source.
The Aurender MC20 is a Master Clock and Word Clock generator designed to provide a high level of digital audio performance from a connected music server and/or D/A converter. Its timekeeping reduces jitter to very low levels, supporting timbral purity and stable instrument placement within the soundstage.
The MC20 uses a rubidium module to generate a 10MHz master clock reference signal. Rubidium is used for its long-term and short-term accuracy and stability, supporting ultra-low jitter. The MC20 also contains 2 discrete OCXO word clock modules, generating 44.1 kHz and 48 kHz frequencies. It can independently and simultaneously provide 4 10MHz master clock outputs and 4 Word Clock outputs, with 2 at 44.1 kHz and 2 at 48 kHz, for use with a range of Aurender and third-party equipment.
Rubidium 10 MHz Clock Module
The rubidium clock module in the MC20 is designed for high accuracy and stability, with low phase noise and jitter. Its performance supports clarity and a three-dimensional sound field with width, depth and height. Reducing jitter and phase noise removes digital glare and gives digital audio a warmer, more natural character.
Discrete OCXO Clocks
2 separate channels of OCXO Word Clock generation are provided, with 75Ω and 50Ω ports on each channel. Many DACs and sources accept Word Clock input rather than 10MHz Master Clock input. The MC20 therefore includes 2 channels of discrete OCXO-driven Word Clock outputs. Set 1 channel to 44.1 kHz and the other to 48 kHz, including their multiples.
Synchronised Operation
An SPDIF sync channel enables automatic synchronisation of the Word Clock output according to the content being played.
Connectivity
Connect the MC20 to an Aurender source and a DAC with clock input for the fullest effect. If the DAC does not have a clock input, synchronising the Aurender transport with the MC20 remains possible.
