MB2-XBD SE

The PMC MB2-XBD SE is a three-way loudspeaker system with Advanced Transmission Line bass loading and a dedicated XBD bass cabinet. It combines a large bass driver, a dedicated midrange unit and a precision high-frequency driver within PMC’s MB2 architecture, with the separate XBD module extending and reinforcing low-frequency performance.

PMC’s Advanced Transmission Line uses a carefully tuned internal acoustic pathway to absorb unwanted energy from the rear of the bass driver while reinforcing the lowest frequencies. This enables the MB2-XBD SE to reproduce deep bass with control and very low distortion, while preserving definition, timing and tonal accuracy.

The SE specification includes refinements to the cabinet construction, crossover components, internal wiring and mechanical isolation. These changes are intended to maximise transparency and reduce unwanted resonance, allowing the loudspeaker to reveal fine detail while remaining composed during demanding musical passages.

Although substantial in scale, the PMC MB2-XBD SE is designed to present music coherently and naturally rather than relying on power alone. Voices and instruments retain body and texture, while the system’s high headroom supports the reproduction of large orchestral works, live recordings and dynamic electronic music with realism.
