The Sugden Masterclass LA-4 is an active pre-amplifier with a comprehensive range of inputs and outputs, designed for use with Masterclass and Sapphire power amplifiers. Its high-gain design provides precise control over any power amplifier while retaining the natural character and subtlety of the music.
The LA-4 uses relay switching for all inputs and outputs, gold-plated circuit boards and a Class A output stage. Specially selected transistors and capacitors help preserve the integrity of the audio signal, allowing it to pass through the pre-amplifier with minimal compromise.
Each gain stage is powered by a current-shunt differential power supply, developed to provide fast transient response and effortless handling of demanding musical peaks. The resulting combination of authority, refinement, dynamics and control is matched to the natural musicality of the Sugden Masterclass LA-4.
