MaiA DS3
The Pro-Ject MaiA DS3 centres on a dual-mono integrated amplifier delivering 140 watts per channel into 4 ohms, with MM/MC phono, analogue and digital inputs, USB and Bluetooth 5 with aptX HD. This lets listeners connect turntables, computers and wireless devices alongside speakers or headphones, while the variable RCA output supports a subwoofer.
The Pro-Ject MaiA DS3 is an integrated hi-fi amplifier with 140 watts per channel at 4 ohms, a phono stage, digital-to-analogue conversion, Bluetooth and USB connectivity. Its full-aluminium case is machined and designed to protect the electronics from vibration, wireless interference and electronic signals. The amplifier is available in black or silver, with magnetic wooden side panels available separately.
The MaiA DS3 accepts analogue and digital sources through 9 inputs. These include a phono input for MM and MC cartridges, 3 line inputs for sources such as a CD player or tuner, 2 S/PDIF optical inputs, an S/PDIF coaxial connection for a television or games console, a USB input and Bluetooth 5 with aptX HD for computers and wireless devices.
A PCM 1795DB 32bit/192kHz Delta-Sigma DAC handles digital conversion, while the asynchronous XMOS USB input supports 24bit/192kHz audio and DSD64, DSD128 and DSD256. The Bluetooth receiver supports aptX, aptX HD and the A2DP profile. The dual mono design is housed in a heavy aluminium casing.
Speaker connections are provided through gold-plated outputs that accept 4mm banana plugs, spade connectors or bare wire. The variable RCA outputs can be used to connect a subwoofer. A fixed output sends the audio signal to another device without being affected by the volume control, making it suitable for an audio recorder. There is also a headphone output rated at 2 x 430mW at 32ohm with 1% THD.
Trigger input and output connections are included. A supplied remote control switches between inputs and adjusts the motor-driven volume potentiometer smoothly. Pro-Ject makes the MaiA DS3 in Europe, with the enclosure sized for the internal electronics.
