The McIntosh MA352, a hybrid integrated amplifier, pairs a valve preamplifier using 12AX7A and 12AT7 tubes with a direct-coupled solid-state output stage delivering 200 watts per channel into 8 ohm speakers or 320 watts into 4 ohm speakers. The McIntosh MA352 is an all-analogue hybrid integrated amplifier combining a valve preamplifier with a direct-coupled solid-state output stage. It delivers 200 watts per channel into 8 ohm speakers and 320 watts per channel into 4 ohm speakers, doubling the MA252’s power output.
Its valve preamplifier section uses a pair of 12AX7A and a pair of 12AT7 tubes. Dual-scale McIntosh blue watt-meters provide power readings for both speaker impedances. The MA352 has two balanced inputs, three unbalanced inputs and one Moving Magnet phono input for turntables, with adjustable loading.
A preamplifier output allows connection to power amplifiers, while the amplifier can also be used with up to two powered subwoofers. Five-band analogue tone controls provide adjustment of ± 12dB for each band. Home Theatre Pass Through, Power Control, Data Ports and gold-plated binding posts are also included.
McIntosh technologies include Power Guard®, Sentry Monitor™, McIntosh Monogrammed Heatsinks™ and a High Drive headphone amplifier with Headphone Crossfeed Director (HXD®).
The amplifier is built on a stainless-steel chassis with a polished mirror finish. Vintage McIntosh-styled die-cast aluminium name badges are fitted to both sides. The front panel is made from black glass with direct LED backlighting, alongside blue output meters, control knobs and an illuminated logo.
