M5

The Bricasti M5 is a network interface and media renderer that connects to your server through a local area network.

The M5 connects to your LAN via Ethernet, with SPDIF and AES outputs supporting sample rates up to 192k PCM, and DSD 64 and DSD 128 over USB. A regionally approved WI-FI adapter is required for WI-FI functionality and is not included.

The M5 plays audio over a wired Ethernet data network. A computer server and additional storage drives can otherwise introduce extra cables and power supplies into the listening environment. With the M5, your server devices can be placed elsewhere on the network, away from your system.

The M5 is a dedicated DLNA and Roon Ready audio media renderer. Raw data is served to the M5 over the network from your NAS or server, where it is rendered as a real-time audio stream for its SPDIF, AES or USB outputs. These outputs connect to a D/A converter such as the M1SE. Unlike a computer server handling both archival storage and playback, the M5 performs the audio rendering close to its D/A destination.

The M5 has a solid aluminium chassis milled with rounded corners. It contains the Bricasti media player and uses the same linear power supply as the M1 digital to analogue converter, providing low noise performance. The M5 is supplied complete, with no add-ons required.
