The Plinius Koru is a phono preamplifier for vinyl playback, housed in a Ross Stevens inspired curved chassis with a slight twist. Its 2-in-1 construction physically separates the power supply from the amplification circuitry.
The power supply uses a virtual battery approach, with over 100,000 micro Farads of capacitance and sophisticated 2 stage regulation. This provides the lowest impedance and accurate power delivery to the amplification stages.
The Koru supports both low output moving coil cartridges and higher output moving magnet types. Its amplification and equalisation stages use modern components selected for accuracy and longevity, while a full range of user adjustments is available on the rear panel.
Single Ended and Balanced Output signals are supported. Passive high frequency and active low frequency equalisation are used to maintain stability and finesse across different types of music.
By applying modern electronic components and layout techniques to the original analogue signal from vinyl, the Plinius Koru combines established analogue playback with contemporary circuit design.
