The Plinius Kaitaki is a preamplifier with balanced and single-ended connectivity, designed to work with the Plinius P10 power amplifier and the Plinius SA103 power amplifier in either stereo or monoblock configuration.
The front panel provides a rotary volume control and source selection buttons. The remaining functions are operated from the distinctive Plinius remote control. LED indicators show the selected source and the status of the mute, phase and HT bypass functions.
Up to 5 source components can be connected, with both balanced and single-ended connections available for CD. A processor loop permits integration with a home theatre system, while the outputs are provided through RCA or XLR connectors. The optional adjustable phono stage enables vinyl playback without a separate phono preamplifier.
The Kaitaki’s circuit design incorporates development work from later-generation Plinius integrated amplifiers and source components. Its power supply has extremely low impedance, supporting the audio circuitry in operation.
