The Weiss INT202 is a FireWire-to-AES/EBU digital interface for connecting a computer-based music source to an external DAC. It forms a digital bridge between computer audio and conventional hi-fi equipment, with attention to clocking accuracy, low jitter and bit-transparent signal transfer.

Computer audio is supported from 44.1kHz to 192kHz, with word lengths up to 24-bit. The INT202 has 2 FireWire 400 connections for compatible computers and daisy-chained FireWire devices. Digital output is available through dual AES/EBU connections, using both XLR and RCA sockets.

At 176.4kHz and 192kHz, the Weiss INT202 can provide dual-wire AES/EBU for older DACs that require this configuration. Its internally generated master clock controls the computer audio stream, helping to reduce timing errors and maintain a stable digital signal for the connected DAC.

Further facilities include digital volume adjustment, absolute polarity control and Weiss’s bit-transparency checking function. This allows the computer playback system to be checked for delivery of an unaltered digital signal. Power can be supplied through the FireWire connection or by the external power supply supplied with the unit.
