Hi-Line

The Naim Hi-Line is a high-end signal cable developed alongside the CD555 CD player as a separate project to exceed the performance of Naim’s standard signal cable. The development brief covered every parameter of a signal carrier, with the aim of improving the complete system rather than focusing only on the cable itself.

Hi-Line is available with DIN or RCA terminations and uses a patented Air-PLUG connector. This acts as a decoupling device, reducing vibration transmitted along the cable and helping to preserve the system’s musicality. The Air-PLUG’s multiple rear sections clip together to create a lossy, flexible section, while the cable is compliantly clamped to the end of it.

The cable construction is designed to preserve audio signal integrity and improve sound quality. It uses twisted pairs of 80 Litz conductors surrounded by PTFE, Kapton and PTFE tape, then enclosed within a semi-conductive shield to reduce static charges. This assembly is wrapped in 2 spiral-wound copper shields and lapped PTFE tape.

2 of these assemblies are placed side by side, wrapped in further layers of PTFE tape and finished with a rubber outer covering. The resulting 2-channel cable keeps the signal and RF grounds in a static position relative to one another, negating any difference in field between them. The Naim Hi-Line is supplied with either DIN or RCA termination options.
