Grandioso T1

The Esoteric Grandioso T1 is the company’s first turntable, introduced to commemorate Esoteric’s 35th Anniversary. It uses the patented, contact-free Esoteric MagneDrive System, which inductively synchronises the rotation of a magnetic driver and platter for quiet, smooth rotation at an accurate speed.

The Magne-Float platter reduces its effective mass from 19kg to approximately 4kg, greatly reducing spindle bearing friction. An inverted bearing system supports smooth platter rotation, while the contact-free drive removes mechanical contact from the belt, rim and motor, avoiding the speed irregularities these can potentially cause. The platter is also free from vibration.

The magnetic force applied to the platter can be adjusted using the front-panel micrometer knob. This allows the sonic characteristics to be fine-tuned by changing the distance between the platter and the driver. The design does not require replacement belts.

Grandioso T1 has a 3-piece independent chassis configuration comprising separate main, motor and power supply units. Its motor drive unit supports 10MHz clock synchronisation, including connection to the Grandioso G1X Master Clock. A high-quality VCXO motor driver provides precise platter rotation.

Speed selection covers 33 and 45 rpm, with adjustment in 0.1% increments.
