Grandioso C1X

The Esoteric Grandioso C1X is a high-end pre-amplifier with a 2 chassis dual monoblock design. Its semi-floating pre-amplifier module is not screwed to the chassis, providing an unbound approach to the sound. The DC power supply uses dual AC inputs and dual DC outputs, with 5 power supply transformers in total. These comprise 4 large-capacity toroidal-core transformers and 1 R-core transformer.

The Grandioso C1X uses a newly developed Ultra Fidelity Attenuator System, offering 0.1dB resolution across 1,120 steps. Its stepped resistors attenuator provides a smooth curve. An integrated discrete amplifier module, the IDM-01, was designed specifically for the C1X, with parts and circuitry selected in the same manner as a discrete circuit.

• The FET-based input selector removes the effects of mechanical contacts.
• ES-LINK Analogue, Esoteric’s current transmission format, is supported on 3 inputs and 2 outputs.
• A fully balanced circuit design provides high signal-to-noise performance.
• ESOTERIC-QVCS volume control uses 4 circuits on each channel in a dual-mono, fully balanced configuration.
• The ultra-low-noise logic control circuit reduces noise within the control system.
• ESOTERIC-HCLD is an enhanced current-output buffer circuit with a slew rate of 2,000V/μs.
• The buffer amplifiers use a stabilised power supply circuit with an EDLC Super Capacitor Array.

Operation is handled by selector and volume knobs fitted with high-precision ball bearings. Input gain can be adjusted by ±18dB in 0.1dB steps, while left and right balance can be adjusted by ±6dB in 0.1dB steps. All inputs support an AV THRU setting, allowing an AV amplifier to be used alongside conventional LINE inputs.

The Grandioso C1X is supplied with the RC-1334 high-grade double-faced aluminium remote control. It operates the pre-amplifier as well as Esoteric Super Audio CD players, network players and DACs.
